The club was formed in 1984, as with many other road running clubs, in the wake of the birth of the London Marathon. Known for the first 8 years of existence as "The Embarrassed Joggers" and based at Woodside School, Plaistow. A move to the track at Terence McMillan stadium in 1992 prompted a name change to the less self-conscious "Newham Joggers", and in 1994 East End Road Runners was born. We are always keen to learn about our history and hear from past members. If you would like to share with us your memories and/or photos of the club please contact us (selecting 'chair')
