Training

All of the club's training sessions are lead by qualified and experienced running coaches aided by qualified run leaders. There are changing facilities and toilets right next to the track.

The club currently meets three times a week:
Tuesday 6.45 - 8.15pm Track running - covering about 3 or 4 miles.
Thursday 7pm - 8.15pm Road running - covering 7 miles and up.
Sundays 8am and 9am Road running - covering 6 miles and up.

Tuesday:
Unlike most road running clubs, our main session is a speedwork session on the track. We have exclusive use of the 400 metre outdoor track at Terence McMillan Stadium from 7pm to 8.30pm [£3 track fee a session for members - £4 for non-members].

Thursday:
A steady/Fartlek paced run always 7 miles, on the roads and in local parks [with the option to cover up to 9 miles as a Fartlek session or other training options for more advanced runners].

Sunday:
Two steady paced runs. The more experienced runners / those training for the Half Marathon distance and up meet at the earlier time. Depending on the time of year these sessions also incorporate hill running / race pace practice runs / time trials.
